Despite the daily circulation of information on the corona virus, indigenous communities are still behind because the information does not reach them. This group of people are nomads and live on top of the Hills and Forests for greener pastures and livelihood and are cut off from other communities and hence information on the preventive measures hardly reaches them given that sensitization is mostly done in urban areas.

The fundamental questions remains how do the indigenous people access information in order to protect themselves against the covid-19? Information today is gotten through the media; televisions, radios, posters and social media which is done in English and French. We hardly find these tools due to the absence of electricity and network, moreover the information presented in French and English is hardly understood.

Whenever crises strike, these communities are more vulnerable especially the indigenous women and girls due to the gender based violence and inequalities they face.
